WRAPPER: Ecuador Connecticut

BINDER: Connecticut Broadleaf

FILLER: Nicaraguan Maduro and Pennsylvania Broadleaf

Size – Toro (6×52)

Great draw and just pouring smoke like a locomotive.

1st ⅓ – like a nice coffee with some cream in it. Little bitter, little sweet. Tiny bit of white pepper upon light up that quickly faded to black…couldn’t help myself

2nd ⅓ – the white pepper has returned but as just a hint on the back end of the creamy coffee note

Final ⅓ – In a final third the cream goes away leaving a nice bitter black coffee note with some cocoa finally showing itself.

Paired with: Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage 2014

Barreled on 1/21/2014

Bottled on 3/40/2022

Straight Bourbon Whiskey 8 yrs old

86.6 proof

Nose – cherries and a subtle oak note

Palate – coats the mouth nicely. Cherry and vanilla like a cherry cordial followed by some slightly bitter oak. Finish is medium but nicely sweet.

Taking a draw from the cigar after a sip brings out a nutty flavor that is a welcome addition to the party. I’m really enjoying both of these and it will certainly not be the last time I smoke this cigar with this bourbon. All in all a fantastic cigar that surprised the hell out of me, paired with a very solid bourbon that I would recommend to anyone.
